About Tova

Tova by Bonnie

Today, more than ever, my goal is to help you recognize the importance of our connection to nature, organically.  From understanding how easy it is to work with nature to design and manage your own garden,  to taking advantage of specialty plant-based health products, I can help you.

I’ve been gardening in difficult climates virtually all my life.  Not only are difficult climates really easy to manage, once you understand them, difficult climates create the healthiest fruits and vegetables.  I’ve created a variety of designs and concepts to help you create your own organic garden, mixing lovely trees and flowers with healthy vegetables within the same space.  You’ll start to enjoy your garden again, when you understand how simply you can maintain it.

My specialty is creating microclimates so I can bring home plants from anywhere and see if they’ll grow in my yard.  In fact, I have plants that most gardeners would never dream of planting in challenging climates.  I know how to make them grow.

As a horticulturist, educator, designer and professional speaker, I enjoy offering educational keynotes that help people understand our connection to nature to improve our health both physically and spiritually.  I  have led workshops and seminars throughout the U.S. since 1997 for growers, nurseries, gardening and floral associations, city planning departments and Lowe’s Home Improvement.

I’ve written many articles for Schultz products, Etera’s catalog, many national gardening publications, the regional publication, Tahoe Quarterly and for Amazon.com.  I wrote and published two best-selling books, ‘Perennials’ and ‘Mr. Vegetable’s Garden Tips’, specifically for high-desert climates.  My 2-hour weekly Q & A radio program with Mr. Vegetable, was a lot of fun and received Best On-Air Talent in the Nation for 2 consecutive years. Our listeners asked every gardening question imaginable so I got a great education reading everything I could get my hands on to be able to answer those questions.

I produced how-to gardening segments for the regional NBC television affiliate, the ABC television affiliate and cable programming, and produced and hosted a 30-minute gardening program for national syndication for the Discovery  television channel.

But now—learn from my blog articles and get new information as I interview amazing guests in my podcasts.  In order to best serve your needs, I would love your input to keep this website fresh and valuable.  Contact me here.
